My original answering post got chopped off for some reason. He wants to be
able to dial straight to a port on his router from another port connected to
the telco with out it being "two stage". 2 stage is where you would dial
the number, then get a dial tone from the router and have to dial again to
get to the port he wants.
What he need is "direct inward dial" Problem is, The telco has to pulse
the number it is calling down the analog line so the router know what the
DNIS (dialed number information service) is. The router needs this info to
know what port to send it to based on the destination patterns configured.
Usually you use a PRI from the telco and they send this info in any format
you ask. I don't know (cus I never tried it) if they can do this down an
analog line. This was my originail conifig for this if the telco can pulse
DNIS down the line.
Dial-peer voice 1 pots
Port (your FXO port connected to the telco)
direct-inward-dial
Dial-peer voice 2 pots
Port (the FXS port connected to the telephone)
destination patteren (the number that is dialed from the telco to reach this
line)
A way to do this without DNIS being sent That I KNOW works is like this:
Voice-port 1/1 (the FXO port connected to the telco)
connection PLAR 5551212
dial-peer voice 1 pots
port (the FXS port connected to the telphone"
destination patteren 5551212
This setup will automaticly route any incoming call on the FXO port straight
to the FXS port configured for the PLAR (phone line automatic ringdown)
Sorry about my first post getting chopped. I have been working too many
hours and now I can't sleep !!!! Enrique , I hope you get this post as
this will work
