thanks very much for this. I gather you too found no information whatsoever
on CCO, other than the outputs from various show cam commands reproduced in
various documents. I believe Leigh Anne and I have both learned quite a bit
this weekend. Which in turn means quite a few folks on this list may benefit
down the line.

I finally got smart and went to the Open Forum on CCO (login required)

01-00-0c-ee-ee-ee is a Cisco proprietary protocol called SYNC. It's sent by
the root bridge on VLAN1 every two minutes and helps maintain an accurate
SPT topology. In use since 2.1(6). SNAP fromat with hex value 2006 as the
SNAP type. Contains four bytes of data (00 01 D4 C0) with 34 bytes of
padding.

I've found this address in the "show CAM system" on CatOS boxes. Not on
2924M-XL "show mac self".
