In addition to this,

I just noticed, I am not getting CTS or DSR lights on the portserver,
whereas I do on all the other succesful connections.

Hi All,

I recently purchased a Digi portserver that I use for console access to the
console ports on my lab routers/switch.

I mainly did this in preparation to allow remote access to my lab.

The digi portserver works really well, and I picked it up for only #100 on
ebay (16 ports).

Anyway, I have made up a bunch of RJ45-RJ45 console cables, and have all the
routers working fine.

I was using a modem cable to connect the female DB25 on my CAT5000 to the
DB9 on my PC.

I chopped the DB9 end off the cable, hooked up an RJ45 plug (to the best of
my web searching pin out ability) and now I can watch the POST when I turn
the switch on, but thats it, it just sits at the EARL test done line, and
thats it.

I can telnet in, the switch is fine, I just can't see anything via the
console cable (that I performance enhanced :) ).

Does anyone have the pinouts for this configuration? I used something that
sort of looked right, but is obviously not.

Cheers,

Symon
