redistribution is necessary only if all routes need be seen in all routing
domains. otherwise default networks and quad zero routes work just fine.

I agree that redistribution is a necessary and valuable tool.

Just a quick one: can a router run two protocols simultaneously?  e.g. RIP2
and OSPF?  Perhaps each interface still take care of only one protocol but
the router itself manages two.
