I'll quibble a bit. Having worked several years at a Sun/Cisco reseller during the height of the dot.com era, I would have instantly agreed with this statement until recently. But I wonder if it's still true. One colo engineer has told me that with many colocators teetering on the brink of bankrupty that rack space is much cheaper these days and highly negotiable.
