I run a similar setup with no problem. Here's a snipet of the PIX config.

! permits ports for incoming VPN
conduit permit tcp host A.B.C.D eq 1723 any (hitcnt=314)
conduit permit gre host A.B.C.D any (hitcnt=3514715)
