I would suggest when you are ready for the ISDN, to rent a rack with the simulator rather then try to bluff your way through it using a sim program. That way you can try all kinds of configs, not just what the sim has.
My rack has a 2 port S/T simulator. The newer ones can use either a U or S/T but I got mine at a fair price so beggers can not be too choosy :) Right now it's between two 2500s.
