If you're using Windows 9x or NT/2000 machines, you could use NetBEUI as your transport protocol and at least not have to mess with IP addresses. If you're used to it, setting up IPs are a piece of cake, but if not, use NetBEUI and that simplifies your setup. Just make sure both PCs are in the same Workgroup (although technically not needed, it again simplifies things). Mike W.
