I think it is part B.S. and part people that were lucky that are making the avg or above avg.
For many of the people making more then the average, I believe it was a combination of 1 - salesmanship 2 - outright LIE 3 - interviewer not making sure they can do what they say they can. I said many not all.. some trully deserve it and more...
