Vincent, There is no "mechanism" needed. IBGP routers simply do not do this. You don't need a mechanism to prevent something when the protocol isn't designed to do it in the first place. On the contrary, you need a mechanism to make IBGP advertise prefixes learned from IBGP neighbors which is why we have the concept of route reflection.
