They are both correct since the first bit is in the first byte. I think 
what you're getting at is that it just takes a single bit to indicate 
whether or not the frame includes source-routing. It's the Routing 
Information Indicator (RII) bit and it is the first bit transmitted. When 
looking at frames keep in mind that Token Ring sends the most significant 
bit first.
