Hi,
I have a very popular questions. I knew this problem already
floating at newsgroups and forum for quite some time but I still didn't
see any answer.
Question:
R1-------R2---------R3
R1, R2 and R3 running OSPF as IGP
R1 peer with R2 and R2 peer with R3
R2 is Route-reflector, R1 and R3 are route-reflector client
R1 advertise an loopback address to OSPF and BGP
R2 and R3 got this route via OSPF
R2 and R3 also have this route via BGP but R2 is syn, R3 not.
Problem:
R3 not syn
Reason:
BGP and OSPF router-id mis-match (RFC 1403). R3 see the route in OSPF is
advertise by R1 and see the route in BGP is advertise by R2. This 2
different router-id caused this route in R3 not syn for BGP. If the IGP
change to EIGRP, there will be no such problem because router-id
matching is not a requirement for EIGRP as a IGP.
Try to achieve,
I want this route in R3 syn (Cannot use no syn in any routers).
Any suggestions?
