Thanks Nadeem, one thing more, when the serial interface goes down, the LED hangs, i.e. even when I remove the serial cable does the LED keep glowing. Only when I restart the router does the LED status come to actual. Can you add to this? I'll tell you the end results of this case, keep checking the mail. Bye.

You should duble check that and also the interface statistics.
