I've worked with the 3000 concentrator but not with the Checkpoint. The 3000 is very user friendly and easy to use. You have to do minor configuration via console and then you're off with the web interface which is very simple to use. I can't make a recommendation for which you should buy but the Cisco products always make me happy. I've set up a vpn tunnel from a cisco router to a checkpoint firewall and it seemed like the person on the configuring end of the checkpoint had a lot of problems with upgrading software and technical support but that may have been a one person scenario. I can't say for sure.
