Just to give you some hope, I'm using Pumpkin on my XP laptop.
I never have a single problem with it.

I don't really know what to suggest, but feel free to e-mail me direct if
you would like to compare any specific setings you may suspect.

Mine's been on that long that I don't really remember if I had to change
anything initially.
I know mines fairly open as far as security goes.

Does a 'netstat -a' show tftp as listening, or is it not getting that far?
