Hi Jeff, I have defintely considered this as an option, however I ran into some problems with this:
One problem is that to go to ICTP I would be taking out an educational loan, and I am not sure how I could get an educational loan to just buy the equipment for a home lab. Also, I am looking to go all the way through CCIE, and there are not many places that offer this (including community colleges). The other thing I am hoping for is that ICTP has pretty good job placement, or at least I can build some good connections there. This is very important to me since I am moving from Indiana and don't really know anyone in the industry out there. Of course, ICTP is going to be a pretty big investment and I want to make sure that I have looked at all my options before I commit for sure. I have had trouble even finding any other places in Southern California that really compare to ICTP (in terms of the facility, and courses offered). I am looking for places that have full lab setups (meaning everything you need to use for the CCIE lab), and offer classes all the way through CCIE. If anyone knows of anymore places like this in Southern Calfornia that I could compare to ICTP please let me know. Thanks!
