I've come across reading some Catalyst product datasheet where it says, for example, that Catalys 8450 has Backplane of 40Gbps and throughput performance of 24Mpps. What do these figures mean in terms of performance? And how do they relate to each other? How does this Mpps differ from the Mpps of routers? Thanks.
