Well, as someone who does get compensated by Certzone and other organizations, I make a point to give the appropriate disclaimers when I make a post relating to product quality. I certainly encourage anyone who does get compensation from Certzone, Gettlabs, etc., never to hide that--I think honesty is the best long-term policy. Generally, when I post to the list, I cite freely available information. To the best of my knowledge, Robert has never done work for us. I suppose it's possible he might have been a reviewer at some time, but I'm usually aware of who they are. I agree that pitches are made by people that are affiliated with education vendors but don't disclose that affiliation. I don't like it myself. But may I suggest it's more appropriate to _ask_ if someone has an affiliation than offer an innuendo that they might be shilling? As to the value of white papers -- of course different people learn in different ways. They might or might not be of use to you. One of the reasons Certzone makes each of its White Papers available free for one month (not the questions or labs), so people can make an intelligent decision if they are or are not useful. Oh -- both David Wolsefer and Galina Pildush are CCIE's, and have been compensated by Certzone. Since David's posting was in support of an April Fool's joke, perhaps the limits were stretched in good fun. > > > >All I need is an internet terminal and some free time to get those >things you mentioned :-) Anyway, to each his own.... > > > >-----Original Message----- >From: Robert Fowler [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] >Sent: Monday, April 01, 2002 3:00 PM >To: Brian Zeitz; [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: RE: MPLS White Paper Announcement [7:40035] > > > >Actually, the site provides much more than that.
