The proctor would really have trouble excluding THAT calculator from the lab. I'm tired at the end of a long day, but the trick, if there is one, is REALLY being able to understand binary. Being able to think binary makes CIDR/VLSM addressing much easier, and hex trivial -- just count off groups of 4 bits. Octal, which used to be popular on DEC machines, was just plain weird when you had to deal with multiples of 8 bits.
