Step 1 - Log into the router via the console port using Telnet or terminal emulation software.
Step 2 - When the router boots up, enter the enable mode. Step 3 Erase the contents of the Flash memory partition except the one currently in use (this partition will be in the Read ONLY state in the partition listing), as shown below. router# erase flash Erase flash device, partition 2? [confirm] Are you sure? [yes/no]: y Erasing device... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ...erased router# Step 4 - Enter the show flash command to verify that the desired Flash memory partitions have been erased: router# show flash You are now ready to unpartition the Flash memory.
