As Brad mentioned, they are good if you are at a CCNA level... but if you have at least some experience in configuring Cisco Switches, don't bother with the CIM LAN Switching product. It doesn't cover MLS, which is a good topic of testing on the exam.
I can't speak for the IP Routing CIM though. Just go get a couple good books, and you'll do fine. You can also check out the flash cards that Ole created at routerchief.com Good luck.
