First time poster. Lets try that again. I need help upgrading my microcode and have been stuck on this for 2 days. I have a 7507 with RSP2. I have IOS 12.2(1) BOOT on the on board flash. I have IOS 12.2(1) (18MB) on the removable flash card. On ROM I have System Bootstrap, Version 11.1(2)
I am trying to get an FEIP2-2TX (same class as VIP2) to be recognized by the system. I believe I need to upgrade my microcode. After investigating the 'microcode' command for 7500 I am still baffled. I've tried the no form of the command to load the code that's supposed to be embedded in the image. I can't find new microcode anywhere! QUESTIONS: Where specifically on CCO can you get individual microcode files? How can you tell if you have microcode updates in your IOS? How do you extract them? If I'm on the wrong track how can I upgrade my ROM from 11.1 to 12.2? ROM chip replacement only? HELP!
