Tell me about it. My lab is in early September, but I just picked up a 5505 with a sup III and NFFC II for $1000.00(it was an awesome deal) I got the 24 port 10/100 blade for $100.00. It is great that cisco is taking the Token-Ring and IPX stuff out but the ethernet switching does not make sense. Unless they are ultimatly moving away from the (set) based product code. The 6500s support Switching IOS in addition to the standard SET based code, so I guess this makes the platforms(the new 2950s up to 6500) more consistent up and down the product offerings. I am checking on wheather my 2924-xl-en is comaprable to a 3550 in terms of IOS functionality, without the Gbit of course. Otherwise I will see if I can trade in my pair of 2924s for a reduced priced 3550.
