Since all broadcasts are multicasts, but not all multicasts are broadcasts, the keyword "multicast" really would make more sense. I can see it as being historical, as multicasting is newer than broadcasting. I think Groucho Marx captured the spirit of broadcasting when he said he wouldn't be a member of any club that would have him as a member.
