The WS-C3550-24-EMI has a list price of $4990. The WS-C3550-24-SMI has a list price of $2995. The upgrade from SMI to EMI, PN:CD-3550-EMI=, costs $1995. As a reseller, my price on the WS-C3550-24-EMI is about $3325. Since I'm a small reseller, you may be able to purchase the WS-C3550-24-EMI from a larger reseller around my cost and they can still make a few points.
