The router doesn't know there are 2 segments on the Ethernet. The static route is routing packets destined for the 192.168.2.0/24 to 192.168.0.100. That device is also doing routing. Linux box I think. My question is how does 192.168.0.100 know of both subnets. Does it have 2 interfaces? I'm assuming that 192.168.2.0/24 devices have a default gateway of the Linux box, not the 2514 router. It can't have the router as its default gateway, cause the router doesn't have a 192.168.2.0/24 address.
