I'm upgrading from 8 to 16 megs flash in my 2505 by adding an 8 meg stick. I boot to ROM to erase the flash. The original 8mb erases fine but I get an error when it starts on the second 8mb - "Flash is write protected" or something very similar (sorry).
It will give that error throughout only about 1/2 of the erase process for the new flash then it goes fine but finally says "flash NOT erased". I remove the new 8 and then the original 8 still erases fine. I remove the old and put new in the first slot and it gives me that error for the first half of the erase process. Meaning it's stick specific not security jumpers (if 2505 has em). All 16 megs are one partition. Bad flash? Can I chage the attribute? What gives?
