Hi, I am seeting up a local network in a company with DSLAMS connected to one Cisco router 7500 for outband and a Redback router for the inband. The gateway for the inabnd is the redback and the gateway for the outband is the Cisco.Redback in turn turns traffic through cisco.
The company is developing Network Management applications to manage the DSLAMS.Most of the DSLAMS are configured for inband through an ATM PVC. The applications are java based and is running on solaris platforms. Strange to me!When this applications are run on the Solaris platforms, the particular station looses connectivity to the particular DSLAM.When I shut down the application, the ping will be succssful for a while and again it looses connectivity. This is a non stopping process till we reset the SUN.This is happeninig irrespective of the SUN but with respect to the java based application on the Sun.From any other SUN platform at the same time I can ping the DSLAM. All the SUn machines are on the outband which tries to access the DSLAMs on the inband. at the same time , i tried to ping from windows as well as another Sun station to the DSLAM and both are working fine except in some 1/50 times the Sun doesn't succeed but the Windows is always successful. Is there anybody who can explain what is going in my network or in the Sun stations? Is it a problem of the network?(Why is it possible to reach from some other station) Problem of the Inband?(How to see the traffic on the inband, arp table etc...) Problem of the Sun station?(Why the brand new Sun stations alone times out in some cases) Problem of the Application?(??????) Any help appreciated. __________________________________________________________________ Your favorite stores, helpful shopping tools and great gift ideas.
