one smart alecky answer is yes - frame relay. Caslow calls frame relay the basis of understanding of x.25, ATM, and SMDS. Not that x.25 or SMDS are relevant any more.
Although there are any number of particulars that are different, ATM fundamentals are exactly the same as frame relay fundamentals. I.e NMBA, pvc mapping, point to point subinterfaces, point to multipoint subinterfaces, either of the above to a physical interface. if you don't have equipment and want to study configuration particulars, perhaps you might consider rack rental at one of the various places. several of them have ATM switches, and you can get into more of the ATM specifics if that is your goal. -- coming soon: www.chuckslongroad.info "" 416South"" wrote in message [EMAIL PROTECTED]">news:[EMAIL PROTECTED]... > looking to know if there is a way to simulate an ATM network > > Thanks Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=51474&t=51319 -------------------------------------------------- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
