just passed bcran 605 w/888 (706 minimum). fairly straightforward. between routing, switching and remote access (the 3 ccnp exams i've taken thus far) this has had the most direct relevant use. (we're a software/hardware integrator with 7 offices (4 international), 300 people, frame cloud, vpn, wintel/*nix). i found the breadth of subject matter the most difficult aspect of preparation; the depth of coverage was fairly light, however.
curious, how do most organizations view telephony/telecommunications - a part of info technology or tucked away in some other corner, like admin or facilities. any experiences working the telcom providers to reduce costs/improve performance when telephony is put in your tender care? thanks.
