they're all VERY quiet when you unplug 'em! :-> seriously, I presume your home lab is not mission critical. Is there any reason it has to run 24x7?Turning things off, and powering up only when you want to put in some serious rack time ( as opposed to reading, then casually trying a couple of things ) can help with your focus. Not to mention help keep the cost of living down.
