These are OK for port scanning but do not really tell me about
vulnerabilites like ISS does. I've gotten good replies off other lists all
suggesting www.nessus.org . Another recommendation was sara
http://www-arc.com/sara/ . Its open source, runs on UNIX but has a windows
and X-windows based clients for using it. I'm gonna try this som'ama bitch
out and see how it works. I was very happy with snort as free open source
tool and hopefully this tool will be of the same quality.
