I've been trying to clear something up about frame relay. Two books I've read say it is connection-oriented. But they also say there is no guarantee of delivery, best effort, etc. I thought the difference between connection-oriented vs. connectionless was pretty clear cut, so this seems to be contradictory. One book said something vague about the virtual circuits making it connection-oriented. Can anyone make sense of this? Thanks.
