I would totally agree with you on this since MCSE would give us more experience and understanding on LAN while CCNP gives us more experience on WAN. This is such a good combination of cert that I would go for instead of just focusing on Cisco Only. My philosophy is "THE MORE YOU KNOW, THE BETTER YOU ARE".
