Expanded list of reasons for including source-citations in CZ articles:

To provide the reader with the sources for the information offered in an article, so the reader can evaluate for herself the quality of the source.

To provide the reader with a path to expand her knowledge about any statement made in an article.

To eliminate the charge that CZ bases the veracity of its articles on authority, not on reader-evaluable evidence.

To eliminate the arbitrariness inherent in the inevitable disagreements among experts in a subject.

To indicate to readers the up-to-date-ness of an article in respect of its evidential bases.

To indicate the disagreements among workers in an area and allow readers to consult the disagreeing sources to make their own judgments.

To enhance the quality of CZ articles by demonstrating that the authors/editors have studied the evidence.

To indicate the poverty or richness of the evidential basis for an article.

To indicate to readers the biases of the author/editors due to the selection of sources cited and exclusion of sources not cited.

Please add to this list.
