Hello to fellow Citizendians,
I believe very strongly that all currency units should start with a
capital letter - eg; Rhodesian Dollar.
As a numismatist,I believe very strongly in adopting this,as Wikipedia's
non-capitalisation of currency units is a very messy way of presenting articles.
Furthermore to this, where a currency was (or is) used in only 1 country, the
nationality indication shouldn't be used.For example,the Vatu,which is the
currency of the British Commonwealth republic of Vanuatu is not known as the
Vanuatu Vatu,as it is only used in that country. It is very fair to say 'New
Hebrides Franc' to distinguish it from the French Franc or the Belgian Franc.
What do you think? Your views please. Please leave a posting on the
Citizendium forum.
Yours faithfully,
Aidan Work.
