All, I'm happy to say we're ready to start *testing* for the Big Cleanup and the new Article Checklist. What will testing involve? You should probably be reasonably adept with MediaWiki. You go through a cleanup "to do list" for 5-10 articles, for each making sure the title is bolded, unused categories are deleted, etc. A specific "to do list" is provided. You also place the Article Checklist template on the article talk pages.
Here are some *informal* instructions for the Big Cleanup test period (required reading if you want to help with the test): http://pilot.citizendium.org/wiki/Citizendium_Pilot:The_Big_Cleanup And here's information about using the Article Checklist (this is also required reading if you're going to help with the test): http://pilot.citizendium.org/wiki/Citizendium_Pilot:The_Article_Checklist If you want an idea of some categories that the Article Checklist automatically generate, start here: http://pilot.citizendium.org/wiki/Category:Checklisted_Articles ==== As to the license, I'm now leaning toward using GFDL exclusively for Wikipedia-sourced articles. As for the other articles, I haven't made up my mind, but I'm pretty impressed by some things folks have been saying on behalf of CC-by-nc. Please contribute to the discussion of this ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL question here: http://forum.citizendium.org/index.php/topic,607.0.html We've been discussing this (and very well, I think) a long time. I would like to make a final decision, perhaps, tomorrow or this weekend. --Larry _______________________________________________ Citizendium-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.purdue.edu/mailman/listinfo/citizendium-l
