Dr. Benjamin, you're correct: templates, images, etc., have to be imported.
There are several reasons that we have not simply uploaded the entire set of
Wikipedia templates and images. Wikipedia templates frequently need
rethinking/redesign, or they do not "pay their way" and are better deleted.
Wikipedia also overuses templates, and that's behavior we don't want to
encourage on CZ.

As to images, we find that far too many of them are questionable from a
copyright point of view--particularly the highly questionable "fair use"
content. If we were to upload them *en masse* we would put ourselves on the
same poor ethical (and legal) footing of Wikipedia. So, at this point,
we're checking each of them individually--that we can indeed use them
legally.

For more, see "How to convert Wikipedia articles to Citizendium articles":

It would be fantastic, however, if someone were to write an article importer
program, to automate the whole process.

Just by the way, everyone, if there are any other questions, or pointers to
forum discussions, that you'd like to broadcast, as long as they are of
broad enough interest, do feel free.

Regards,
Larry Sanger
