All, First, an aside: a big AP feature story about us is going to start appearing online Sunday. Next week will be a big week for us. More later. :-)
Further discussion-- http://forum.citizendium.org/index.php/topic,607.0.html --has shown that we haven't reached adequate clarity on our licensing issue. We're still debating it vigorously, as we should. So I think we should not try to decide on a license by launch time, as much as many of us would like to. We will say that our own content will be licensed either by GFDL, CC-by-sa, or CC-by-nc, but we haven't decided yet. Wikipedia-derived content will be licensed under the GFDL exclusively. I would also like to get input on this from the Editorial Council, but we have been putting off getting that group started until we have transferred mailing lists to a new server. I don't know if you'll go for this, but I think it would be great if we could summarize and standardize some arguments about the licensing issues on the wiki itself. See: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Summaries_of_policy_arguments I've put up this issue: "Should we permit or disallow commercial use of CZ-originated articles?" See: http://tinyurl.com/2nglx6 As I said on the forums, a really great summary of the issues would be helpful to me, and I suspect helpful to us all. I've made a start. I think it could be fun. It would also be great to have an annotated Web bibliography on the issue, too. --Larry _______________________________________________ Citizendium-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.purdue.edu/mailman/listinfo/citizendium-l
