Greetings from the technical team. We've come across a choice that we need to make, and we wanted to get author and editor feedback. As most of you know, when we do approvals or make draft pages, we use what are called "subpages", which are exactly what they sound like. If you look at people's userpages, you'll see pages like User:ZachPruckowski/Workspace (which isn't really all that interesting). Subpages are made by making a page at Pagename/ Subpage_Name. We currently use subpages everywhere except the main article namespace (which is to say the place where we put the articles).
Chris Day and a few other people have set up a complex system of subpages that are very helpful, including a subpage for the draft, for galleries, and for approval histories. However, when they make a page like Biology/Draft, the wiki counts it as a completely different page instead of as a subpage. I've been looking into ways to "cheat" this and work around it, but it would definitely enable a lot of useful resources and simplify things. The downside is that we would have conflicts with articles that would have slashes in the name. There are a few articles that would be affected by that. So please, by all means, let us know what you think on the forums at http://forum.citizendium.org/index.php/topic,943.0.html Zach Pruckowski _______________________________________________ Citizendium-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.purdue.edu/mailman/listinfo/citizendium-l
