All, As you might have noticed by now, I've been reorganizing our policy and help pages. (This was long overdue.) A good starting place to view this work is here:
http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Home But, because I've personally spent so much time on this, I've had relatively little time to advance other "CZ 2.0" goals, such as getting started on our governance refinements. I could use some help--so let me explain how you might help. First, notice that I have (or should have) put one of the ten templates listed here http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Community_Pages on all of our various community pages (instructions and policy pages). So our community pages now fall into ten groups. THE BASIC ASSIGNMENT: We need to create "jumping-off pages" for all ten different policy areas. I've started doing so with [[CZ:Getting Started]] http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Getting_Started and [[CZ:Technical Help]]. Basically, what I'm doing is simply putting a text introduction at the top of the page, then listing, with annotations, the links that can be found in the category for the policy area (e.g., [[Category:Technical Help]]). NOTE: see the template at the top of these pages. You can find all pages in a category for any policy area by clicking on "Other" on the template for that area. All these templates are interlinked via the small links at the bottom of all of the templates. So what needs to be done? ===== (1) This page needs to be finished: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Content_Policy I think it should be fairly easy to figure out how to finish it, once you look at the code. That page is particularly long and structured, because there is a lot of content policy! ===== For the rest, look at this page as a format example: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Technical_Help Note you'll want to devise subheadings for each page. The following pages need to be created, using the latter as a template: ===== (2) http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Article_Lists Should be straightforward. (3) http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Organization The text on the page can be moved to its own (new) page (be sure to place {{Organization}} atop that new page). It can't really be used as the page's introduction text, because there's a lot more to CZ's organization pages than just that. Otherwise, straightforward. (4) http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Initiatives Should be straightforward. (5) http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Communication Needs to be redesigned so that it's in the same rough format as the other pages. (6) http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Editor_Policy Place the links above the text. I'll be moving bits of the text that is now on that page to different pages. If you feel comfortable doing this yourself, you could give it a try. (7) http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Editorial_Council Needs no work. Just leave it alone.
