Dear authors and editors,

The following is something *everybody* has to pitch in on. Only with a very
broad array of collaborators do we have a chance of making a *complete* list
of core articles.

Let's finish listing the top priority articles in each area on [[CZ:Core
Articles]]. This is pressing, because soon, we're going to invite people to
join the project for the specific purpose of contributing articles listed
there. So our list has to be good! It's coming along, but it's still
pretty far from finished. I want to bring all sections to Stage 5 (all
topics listed, points assigned and confirmed).

Here is how to help:

STEP 1: go to http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Core_Articles
and work on the list(s) in your area(s), until you've got an excellent list
of 99 topics, and points are ready to be assigned. Reading the
instructions, eventually, is probably going to be necessary. :-)

I just finished the philosophy section. You could take that as an example.

Earth Sciences is another good example.

EDITORS:
STEP 2 FOR EDITORS: assign points per the instructions ("Attaching points to
topics"), and announce your work on the workgroup mailing list, a link to
which you can find here: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Workgroups
(you'll have to subscribe--you should be subscribed already). Negotiate
with others, but if you're the only editor, it's up to you.

AUTHORS:
STEP 2 FOR AUTHORS: on your workgroup mailing list, ask for editors and
others to help look over the work, and to assign points, a link to which you
can find here: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Workgroups (you'll have to
subscribe). Especially if after a few days no editor has replied, then take
charge--go ahead and assign points yourself.

STEP 3 (for both): leave a message on my user talk page
(http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/User_talk:Larry_Sanger) saying "check the X
Workgroup topic list, please." I'll make sure that the list follows the
rules. If it annoys you that the editor-in-chief is checking off lists,
then why don't you volunteer for the job (please)? :-)

STEP 4: I make your workgroup's topic list "Stage 5," and we're done (for
now)! (For the eight stages of the Core Articles initiative, see:
