All,

I'm delighted to report that my recent mailing to everyone in the project
has resulted in a terrific number of new (or renewed) participants. In
fact, if you look at recent changes just now, you'll actually see more
unfamiliar names than familiar ones.

This is a very good thing!

But it means that we've got our work cut out for us in helping out the new
people. Again, if you can find any time to do some hand-holding soon, I'd
appreciate it. Here are some common problems for new people, which you
could fix:

* Failure to bold the article title.

* Failure to use any categories.

* Uploading personal, non-encyclopedic essays. (These can be marked
{{speedydelete}} on the talk page, but please...be encouraging and gentle.)

* Obvious violations of the neutrality policy (some new people think they
have the right to use CZ to promote their pet causes).

* Other weird stuff.

It also helps to recognize and praise good work, of course. A little
friendliness goes a long way.
