All, This Wednesday, let's ring in 2008 with a bang! I hope everyone on these mailing lists will come to the wiki on Wednesday (whenever it is Wednesday where you are) and do some work. Put it on your calendar, set a reminder!
The spirit of the Write-a-Thons is largely "anything goes," and I don't want to tamper with that, but I would like to encourage people specially to work on [[CZ:Core Articles]] this time: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Core_Articles If you examine our brainstorming session http://forum.citizendium.org/index.php/topic,1421.0.html http://forum.citizendium.org/index.php/topic,1421.msg13016.html#msg13016 you'll see that there is considerable demand for more content in general, and for core articles and approved articles in particular. We need to do two things with regard to Core Articles: (1) complete the lists in each discipline, and (2) actually write the articles in disciplines that are at Stage 5: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Core_Articles#Stages_of_development If you finish a list (i.e., do (1)), let's consider that equivalent of a completed article, for "party" purposes. And remember that, if you're an author and you need to get article lists and point assignments "locked in" by an editor, you can efficiently reach a number of editors via the CZ workgroup mailing lists: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Mailing_lists That way you may motivate a new editor to get involved, too. Let's say you could also take credit (as an article-equivalent) for any recruitment announcement of CZ on any mailing list. (Not articles that you import from elsewhere: those are *not* considered live until they have been changed significantly.) Note, we're (as present writing) 226 articles away from 5,000 articles!
