All, The Write-a-Thon has begun, at least east of the U.S.! And it begins on the east coast of the U.S. (officially) in 15 minutes.
I hope you'll join in...and record your work, and swap jokes, snide remarks, and other banter here: http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/CZ:Monthly_Write-a-Thon Again, it's your opportunity to come to the wiki when you can be sure that the joint is jumpin'! And, looking at recent changes from the last few hours, the joint is already jumpin'! (Do we have a "Fats Waller" article? How about..."jazz"?) The Aleta-approved theme du jour is: write about something you absolutely LOVE. (Anybody love jazz?) Is there something that you are among the elect few to be able to appreciate? Something that not enough other people in the world appreciate? Of course there is. Does CZ have a good article about it? Probably not; 5,600 articles is OK, but it leaves out millions of very lovable things. Well, teach us the joys of your beloved (neutrally, of course...if that's possible). The topic can be obscure as long as it is a "maintainable" class of articles. No one else has to love it. It could be an artist or work of art, or a place, or...well, you get the idea. Other suggested themes, however, include the Olympics (upcoming), your local tourist attractions (something you have first-hand experience of), and your native language (also--for non-English speakers). Derek has already managed to include three of these themes in one topic. You can find out what his topic is only by clicking the above link and getting roped into the party... mwahahahahaha. I plan to take a few hours tomorrow and actually do some work on the wiki. With any luck, also, we should see the default skin change tomorrow! Be there! --Larry _______________________________________________ Citizendium-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.purdue.edu/mailman/listinfo/citizendium-l
