All,

First, let me thank everyone who put considerable work into Biology Week. I
never did make the report about it I wanted to make. We did manage to get
the word out a bit, and strengthen the Biology Workgroup somewhat. Since
the week and the Write-a-Thon earlier this month, we've been more active
than in previous months, I'm happy to say. I want to thank the regulars,
and the newer people too of course. But the regulars like Roger Lohmann,
Howard C. Berkowitz, Anthony Sebastian, Nick Gardner, Milton Beychok, Aleta
Curry, Martin Baldwin-Edwards, Hayford Peirce, Chris Day, and many
more--what a great bunch of people to have as regulars!--have kept this
project on track. I owe all of you a big "thank you" e-mail similar to the
one I did about a year ago. Without you, we'd be nowhere. With you, we
keep trucking along and have a great chance to reach that tipping point
that, I am convinced, is still not only possible for us, but inevitable.

I just looked at http://en.citizendium.org/wiki/Category:CZ_Live and clicked
on some articles and I have to say the experience made me very proud. We're
getting closer to being useful as a general information resource to consult,
and our articles are, as you can see for yourself, quite good. I believe
we've been rather modest about our success. I think we're doing very well
indeed. You should know, in case you had any doubts, that the project still
has my deepest support and that I consider time spent on it to be very
worthwhile. Your faith and work will be repaid in the long run, when we are
known as the single best, most reliable general encyclopedia online. This
is only a matter of time!

I admit I've been absent from the wiki too much--as you have probably
guessed, I remain woefully overextended. I'll be able to explain fully
sometime in the future, but at least I can tell you that in recent months,
I've been working full time getting http://www.watchknow.org/ ready for
launch. This has helped support me and my family and will provide more good
publicity for CZ when we do launch. I hope that, after it's launched and on
its way, I'll be able to give CZ more attention; if it is so busy that it
demands a huge amount of my time, we'll be hiring a manager for it.

But I've continued to work on getting the CZ automatic newsletter supported
and installed, and this is going to be a great shot in the arm when it's
finally ready to go...which, if I'm not mistaken, should be this coming
week!

I'm about to leave for Frankfurt for a keynote and will be back on
Wednesday.

See you online again soon...
