All, This wasn't posted to the list, but it's from our Chief Constable. It's important that we have a minimum number of active constables to stay on top of applications and the occasional conflict resolution--at this point, I would say we need 2-3 more. We really appreciate our constables. If you have some time and are familiar with the CZ system, and meet the minimum qualifications (explained below), won't you please consider the job? --Larry We are again recruiting candidates for the position of constables at Citizendium. Many of our original Constables have become inactive and have been removed, leaving a small handful of us left.
Constables are members of the Citizendium community. While they can be authors, collaborating on articles, they have, in addition, the extra job of maintaining our site and enforcing our rules. Constables must be self-nominated or nominated by other Citizens. Further, two members must second a nomination. And, a candidate should have no more than one detractor. We want our Constables to be experienced with Citizendium, and, mature, responsible, wise, and understanding. But, since these qualities are hard to quantify, we require that Constables be at least 25 years old and college graduates. Hopefully, these requirements will result in Constables with the above-mentioned qualities. Finally, constables have special duties and special permissions to accomplish them.
