Though there is a notion that BMTC is catering to all fairly, its profit
show that this is not the case. It has become a CASH COW for GoK at the cost
of excellent services. If 4000 thousand more buses are to be brought on the
road and if you say so from Leyland and Tata etc then the current set of
vested interests must be given a proposal which they cannot refuse

I am not sure if you are aware but now there is a new policy of "Swiss
Challenge" in corporates approaching the GoK to make a project proposal

Can CAF / Praja etc come together to push such an option with the Tata's and
Leyland who can provide them with this irrefusable choice to break the
monopoly deadlock

One RIDER in all this could be that to promote ridership/ mobility should be
based on the incremental Singapore public transport model
*AND*

All of them including BMTC and the PRIVATE operators will have a *FREE BUS
SERVICE
FROM 5-6 points around the city This could be the CSR of the private and
force BMTC also to adopt this and look at all routes together rather than
profit / loss on each route ?
Only then can we be a city with a heart
CAN we sit togther and plan this out and take it forward.
It is absolutely unethical to continue to allow BMTC make 200 crs profit at
the cost of services

There needs to be a strong lobby to put an end to this CATERING TO HIGH END
SECTOR just for the sake of profit at any cost.
