The tough part is the must haves are the LINUX OS for Fedora Core, Debian and Ubuntu. Bill rate is $42-$44/hour* *Job Description* A Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible primarily for managing and resolving Linux system issues. Additional responsibilities include: · Test and apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary. · Contribute to and maintain system standards following best practices. · Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale. · Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. *Required Systems Administration & Support Knowledge:* *QUALIFICATIONS* The preferred candidate will have Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science or appropriate industry work experience. The ideal candidate will possess: - Strong knowledge in LINUX Operating Systems –Fedora Core (x86-64), Debian 7 (arm), Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS (x86_64) - Experience / basic knowledge in Network Storage – ISCSI, NAS, Remote backup - Experience/ Basic knowledge in Networking and Security – Cisco switches, routers and firewall management · At least 3+ years’ experience in advanced LINUX server troubleshooting · Minimum 2 years of system administration experience · Demonstrated experience troubleshooting Linux OS Debian, Fedora and Ubuntu · Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff in difficult or conflictive situations. · Ability to quickly learn new technologies and keep abreast of the latest technological advances. · Strong individual initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision while being a collaborative team player. · Ability to work dynamically, across multiple teams and projects concurrently, in a technical business environment. · Possesses an entrepreneurial drive for getting things done and a “whatever it takes” attitude.
