Open, collaborative environment, working with multiple technical writers. *** This position is part of the planned/budget 2016 staffing plan for the Polaris Cirrus Delivery Team. The position is necessary to design the application enhancements for Cirrus. *Description:* The API Technical Writer is a customer-oriented person with a proven ability to write for a developer audience. The Senior API Writer focus will be on determining how to best support a developer’s ability to self-service their information needs, using a mixture of material ranging from “getting started” to detailed API reference. *Primary Responsibilities:* Member of a technical writing team, responsible for creating documentation for a new health benefits administration application with an emphasis on API documentation. The API documentation will be written for a developer community. The audience will include a variety of external partners who are building innovative solutions that work with the new Healthcare Benefits Administration Platform (Cirrus). By documenting our platform and API, the API Technical Writer will help developers extend core functionality and integrate other systems. • Create and maintain reference information for API functions and methods • Help drive content strategy for developer information in support of the APIs • Create content that guides developers on getting started, sending and receiving requests between Cirrus and external systems • Research material through a combination of interviews with subject matter experts and hands-on experience with XML and JavaScript • Ensure that API and Cirrus platform documentation is kept current with release updates • Publish content, ensuring that material is accessible and available to developers *Required Qualifications*: • THIS IS NOT A TELECOMMUTING POSITION.
